Stalking the Prettiest of Pretties

A Secret Garden Party. Insp Board {37}

A very common discussion at work is our dream weddings. With one of us getting married in September, a colleague who used to be an events co-ordinator at a hotel and me, it’s not very surprising.

One of the dream weddings is a 50’s style garden party with tea-cups and bunting and a hell of a lot of love. I hope I’ve captured the general idea of it here. I don’t think I have been as worried about getting the details of a board right before! I’ve also included these gorgeous elephant condiment shakers to serve as cake toppers, adorable and appealing to the couples’ love of elephants. They are by Jonathan Adler and can be found here. And how perfect would that tree be to say your vows under? Outdoor weddings aren’t legal in the UK or Ireland yet, but we can always dream!

    Oh, I love the inspiration board! A little known fact, however: outdoor weddings in Ireland, while not common and thought to be illegal, are actually possible. We’re getting married outside on a Saturday (HSE registrars everywhere have just fainted…), our celebrant is from the Spiritual Union of Ireland and is fully registered and performs legally binding ceremonies. We were in a right state thinking we wouldn’t be able to have our wedding the way we wanted, but SUI came to the rescue!

      Thanks for letting me know! That opens up a whole new world of possibilities!

        Yes, it’s fantastic! Tom, our celebrant, was registered just last year. We had our declaration of intent meeting today and the registrar, upon checking his file, said that he has been very busy since his registration and booked up for practically the whole year!
